A career is a life goal for many. a career is an occupation that a person may keep for all of their working life. Careers may often have a yearly salary, as opposed to an hourly wage. I have always been interested in a career as a research scientist. in the field of biochemistry. A biochemist could study anything from shampoo and cosmetics, to neurotransmitters, to hormones. Research scientists are expected to have at least a masters degree, and are most successful at the doctorate level. A deep understanding of biology and organic chemistry are needed to be a biochemist, which is why biochemists are expected to have such a high level of education. Another higher education career is a college professor. A lot of academics will choose to teach their area of expertise instead of trying to find a job in that area. This is common in sociology, psychology, and other pseudo-sciences. College professors almost always have a PhD in their subject. College professors always aim for tenure, which is a kind of guarantee that they will not be fired or replaced. Architects also require a higher level of education. Architects must have a thorough understanding of geometry, physics, and artistic design. This blend of hard facts and creativity make architecture rather difficult.
